Prima Pramac Ducati go bold for 2024 MotoGP teams’ title defence with Martin, Morbidelli

Prima Pramac Racing has completed the 2024 MotoGP World Championship grid after becoming the final team to officially launch its MotoGP Teams’ title defence campaign.

The Italian team became the first privateer outfit to be crowned MotoGP Teams’ Champions last season, Pramac Racing beating factory Ducati Lenovo Team stablemates and four more works-backed operations to lift the trophy.

For 2024, Prima Pramac Racing is setting its sights even higher as it targets a historic riders’ title with Jorge Martin, who will look to go one better this year after finishing a close runner-up to Pecco Bagnaia in 2023, and new signing Franco Morbidelli.

To celebrate its new ‘champion’ status, Prima Pramac Racing will adopt a bold new livery that will likely turn heads among its rivals with the erstwhile base-layer white turning black among the otherwise familiar purple and red decals of its title sponsor.

As has been the case in recent seasons, Pramac Racing will make use of current-spec Ducati GP24 machinery in line with the factory team.

This will be Martin’s fourth season with the Pramac Racing team, the Spaniard having already notched up five wins, 13 podiums and 16 poles in that time, plus a further nine Sprint Race wins last season.

Morbidelli, meanwhile, debuts with both Pramac and Ducati after making the switch from Yamaha over the winter. The Italian – the Moto2 World Champion in 2017 and MotoGP runner-up with Petronas SRT Yamaha in 2020 – will start on the back foot in Qatar on 8-10 March after an injury prevented him from participating in either of the official pre-season MotoGP tests at Sepang and Lusail.
