For weeks, street artist Owen Debbie has been working on the massive painting in a Victoria Street car park.

Bay of Plenty artist Debbie is known around the world for his monumental images, many of which scale the walls of massive structures.

Adesanya, a Nigerian-born UFC champion who currently resides in New Zealand, grew up in Wanganui for 13 years, where he developed a passion for mixed martial arts under the mentorship of Derek Broughton.

After losing the championship he won in April in an unexpected fight in Sydney to American Sean Strickland, the former two-time middleweight champion announced in October that he would take an extended break from the sport.

Since bursting onto the scene in February 2018 with the biggest mixed martial arts promotion in the world, Adesanya has made it his mission to be a competitive fighter. In 2019, he won UFC gold and continues to fight everyone.
