The former RAF technician has seen his playing time limited this season, with his last appearance coming in January, and the West Country outfit have already added Leinster lock Ross Moloney to their roster for next season.

Bath Gallagher host Premier League leaders Northampton Saints at the Rake on Saturday in the final match of the regular season. A win would book their place in the semi-finals and extend McNally’s run in Bath for another week.

“It’s time to say goodbye and say thank you,” the 125kg striker said.

“It was a real honor to have the opportunity to wear the blue, black and white, to represent everyone who works at this club, and to represent this great city.

“The Bath will always hold a special place in our hearts. A place where Sarah, Toby, Alice and I made friends and memories that will last a lifetime.

“Thank you to all the players, coaches and staff over the past five years who have pushed me, guided me and brought me together along the way.

“It has been full of highs and lows, but I have learned a lot and I will leave this club a better person. I love this club, I love this city and I will do everything I can to help the players finish this season with titles.”

Bath Director of Rugby Johan van Graan added: “Josh has brought a lot to Bath Rugby on and off the field. He is a very good rugby player, a consistent and dependable leader, but most importantly he is a great team man.”

“He has left Bath Rugby in a better place, and I wish him and his family the best. Josh will achieve success in whatever he chooses to do in life!”
